Step 2

The ITM admission team will evaluate your application within 2–3 working days. Please ensure that all application documents provided are clear and correct.

To meet our secondary school admission requirement, you must have a Matura (Austrian matriculation examination), an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, or proof that you are eligible to study at a university in your home country. This means that your school-leaving certificate must grant you direct access to higher education in your country of graduation, without additional entry requirements.

If your home country requires an additional matriculation test or university entrance examination, please submit this document as well. If it is not available at the time of application, you may provide it at a later stage.

If you do not meet the general entry requirements, you may still be eligible for admission if you successfully complete a Studienberechtigungsprüfung für Kollegs (Entrance Qualification Exam for Colleges) at ITM within your first year of studies. This exam is available to candidates who:

  • Are at least 22 years old and can demonstrate significant prior vocational or non-vocational education relevant to the field of tourism and hospitality.
  • OR are at least 20 years old and have successfully completed an apprenticeship (Lehrabschlussprüfung), a secondary-level vocational school, or an equivalent qualification with a total training duration of at least four years.

For further details on the “Studienberechtigungsprüfung für Kollegs”, please contact our admissions team.

Step 3

After the successful evaluation you will be invited to a Zoom or personal interview at our campus. The interview is not only a measurement of your English competencies (required level: B2), but also a way to get to know each other and clear open questions.

Within a few days, the ITM admission team will inform you about your application status. If successful you will receive a Letter of Invitation containing details of the fee structure, the payment requirements and the further process.

Step 4

Once you have transferred the costs of the first study year or the first instalment ITM will provide you with the following documents:

Study confirmation in English and German
Contract for the first year of studies in English
Accommodation confirmation in German (if applicable)

Step 5

As a next step you will have to apply for a health insurance covering all risks (visa requirement). The ITM office will assist you by providing the application form and handling the process for you. You will receive a confirmation within 1–2 weeks, the payment can be done upon arrival. Until the age of 27 the fee per month is 59.41€.
